The 'Fairy Chimney' guesthouse is located in the heart of Turkey, around 250 km from the capital town of Ankara in central Cappadocia in the province of Nevsehir. The nearest airport is 80 km to the east in Kayseri.

HOW TO FIND US IN GÖREME:

The best way to find the 'FAIRY CHIMNEY INN', once you are at the town centre / bus terminal is to follow the bottom road towards the Kelebek Hotel near the river bed. Shortly behind the 'Otoman House' (name recently changed) you should turn left and then passing the 'Ishtar Pansiyon' to the right to the 'Kelebek Hotel'. Please follow the steep road in low gear passing the Kelebek- and SOS hotel towards the end of the upper village heading to the antenna on the edge of the hill. Straight to the right at the end of the village there is a small dead end road branching off from the right side, the Güvercinlik Sokak, at which's end our 'Fairy Chimney' is located. You will also recognize some orange coloured signs (see above) on your way up.
 
Our cave-cone is the highest in town just underneath the village antenna, which can be seen from anywhere inside town at the the southwestern ridge. If you have problems finding us ask the people in town for Gülcan & Andus (Alman) or at the information at the bus terminal.

ARRIVING BY PLANE:

The most easiest and shortest way to reach Cappadocia is coming in by plane. The closest regional airport is 80 km away in Kayseri. For about 60 Euro/p there are different planes a day from Istanbul to Kayseri and back (Turkish Airline, Onur Air, Atlas). If you like to combine your trip in Cappadocia with some holidays at the seaside at the Mediterranean, you can arrange your departure flight from Antalya and take an over night bus (or rent a car) from Cappadocia to Antalya.

COMING BY BUS:

The cheapest way (approximate. 25 Euro) to reach Cappadocia from far distnce like istanbul or Antalya is to come by bus. From all the mayor towns in Turkey you can find sometimes direct connections to Goreme town. The major companies, who are passing Goreme are the following 'Tourism' companies: Nevsehir, Metro and Kent.

RENT A CAR:

At all the big airports and in cities you can rent a car via the international Rent-a-car agencies, like Sixt or Avis. There are even other ones which can be reliable alternatives.

ARRIVING IN KAYSERI:

After your arrival in Kayseri, Goreme can be reached with different services like Taxi, Rent a Car, Shuttle-Service or official Buses in 0,45 - 2 hours. If you like we can also pick you up personally which will be the most comfortable option.

Coming out of Kayseri one follows the double lane Nigde road for something like 20 minutes before you branch of to the right (watch for signs) towards AVANOS, Göreme, Ürgüp. You follow the double lane road till you arrive in the pottery town of AVANOS. On the circle road traffic lights you turn left and again left at the next lights approximately 0,5 km away. There you will see a sign 'Göreme 8 km '.

ROAD FROM ISTANBUL & ANKARA:

Between Istanbul and Ankara there is a comfortable highway with little taxes and places to rest . Passing Ankara one should follow the road via Gölcük, AKSARAY (Adana) (same first part as the way to Konya) via Nevsehir to Göreme. The modern, but part wise still busy road is double lane almost all way. This might be the fastest and most easy road.

A more beautiful, little shorter but also smaller road leeds from Ankara via 'Bala' / 'Kirsehir'-Hacibektas-Avanos to Göreme. The 270 and 300 km long distance to Cappadocia can be reached from Ankara within 3,5 - 4 hours by private car.
 
ROAD FROM ANTALYA:
 
If you come with your private or rent-a-car from Antalya, we would recommend the road via Antalya-Alanya-Manavgat-Konya-Aksaray as the shortest and most easiest solution. Of course there are other options depending the way how you want to organize your trip.
